“I’m tired all the time, and I don’t know why.”

You’ll learn the most common, and most reversible, reasons your energy is crashing.

“I feel disconnected.”

You’ll spend a day with people who get it, sharing a meal, moving and laughing together.

“I’m drowning in conflicting health advice.”

Learn the most common, and most reversible, reasons your energy is crashing.

“My labs are normal, but I don’t feel normal.”

You’ll learn the difference between “normal” and optimal, and what your numbers may be telling you years before symptoms appear.

“I’m doing everything right and still can’t lose weight.”

You’ll learn why muscle, hormones and blood sugar matter more than the number on the scale.

“I don’t want to end up with my parents’ health problems.”

You’ll learn how daily habits shape the “soil” your genes grow in.

“I can’t switch off.”

You’ll learn what chronic stress does inside your body, and simple tools to calm your nervous system in minutes.

“My stomach is always off.”

You’ll learn how your gut and brain talk to each other, and how to eat in a way your body can actually digest.

Being Human is Being Whole.

NUTRITION, MEDICAL CARE AND MENTAL HEALTH AREN’T SEPARATE. THEY ARE ONE CONNECTED SYSTEM - LIKE THE ROOTS, STEM AND LEAVES OF A TREE.

THE ROOTS

NUTRITION

What you take in helps keep you grounded. We look at food, energy, habits, and body composition to better understand what supports your body and gives you a stronger foundation for everyday life.

Review of the Basics of Nutrition and how what you eat affects every aspect of your health. You are what you eat.

Complete a body composition analysis and understand what your measurements mean and how to build the body you want.

THE STEM

medical care

The trunk connects and supports the whole tree. Through labs, health history, symptoms, and medical insight, we help you understand what is happening inside your body and how the different pieces work together.

Understand the 5 main causes of disease and how your body is interconnected.

Deep review of each lab marker. You will follow along with your own lab results and clearly see what your body is telling you via your lab markers.

THE LEAVES

MENTAL WELLBEING

The leaves often reveal the condition of the whole tree. Through stress assessment, thoughts, emotions, and patterns, we explore how your inner world shapes the way you experience and move through life.

Understand how stress impacts the body and nervous system, then learn practical ways to regulate, reconnect, and respond differently.

Bring it all together through connection, communication, nature, and simple daily practices that help your brain and body feel better.

THREE EXPERTS, ONE ROOM

The Being Human Experience is run as a team. Medicine, Nutrition, and Mental Health sit in the same room for all three weeks, so you are getting consistent information supported by all three specialties.

Ana Stauch, APRN

Medical

Ana grew up in Jacksonville and has lived and worked in the Beaches area for over 26 years. She initially specialized in Women’s Health and Bio-identical Hormone Replacement therapy, and later developed her scope further by integrating Primary Care with a functional medicine speciality. She has always believed that true holistic care means allowing time and space for each patient in order to clearly understand the key drivers affecting their health.

Ana is the owner of A New Way Healthcare- a Direct Primary Care practice in Jacksonville Beach. She built this revolutionary practice as an alternative to traditional practices where many patients feel rushed or unheard.

She is also the proud mom of 3 boys (now young men) and lives with her family in the Beaches area. She enjoys reading, traveling, yoga and continuously learning new things.

Katie Hammill, CNP

Katie is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner who believes health should work with real life, not against it.

Her practice, Katie Hammill Nutrition, is built around one goal: that healthspan can equal lifespan. Her approach starts with a simple idea: there's no single right way to eat. She works with individuals and families across every stage of life to find what's sustainable - the place where healthy actually feels good.

In addition to running her own practice and being the resident CNP at A New Way Healthcare in Jacksonville Beach, Katie's also a mom of two, a recipe creator, avid runner and someone who feels most like herself outdoors.

Nutrition

Doug Essig, LMHC

Mental

Doug Essig is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor whose approach is rooted in movement, nature, science, and faith. His time as a Colorado River guide showed him how quickly people can reconnect when they step away from screens, get outside, and return to what makes them feel alive.

Today, Doug brings that same philosophy into counseling. He believes healing does not always happen inside four walls. Sometimes we need to move, understand what is happening within us, reconnect with others, and make space for something bigger than ourselves.

Outside of counseling, Doug is a husband, soon to be father, tennis coach, surfer, kiteboarder, and lifelong adventurer. His work is ultimately about helping people reconnect with themselves, each other, and the parts of life that make them feel most human.

  • My husband and I both took part in the Being Human Experience. It was so informative, understandable, and fun! Ana, Katie, and Doug have such deep knowledge in their fields and conveyed this to us in an easy the grasp way. I would highly recommend this program for any one who wants to know more about themselves!

    Molly M-D

  • This was an amazing experience that brought together a diverse and dynamic group with unique experiences and perspectives on nutrition, as well as physical and mental health. The content was incredibly informative and presented in a way that helped me better understand my body and reframed how I think about nutrition, especially as my body changes during perimenopause. The blood testing was one of the most valuable parts of the experience. Seeing my own results brought the concepts we learned together and helped me connect the material to what was actually happening in my own body. I walked away with a much stronger foundation for understanding my health and a a more informed approach to nutrition.

    Razan F.

  • Being Human changed the way I view my own health journey, and I can honestly say I live differently because of it. I finally understand what my bloodwork is telling me and how things like stress, nutrition, and daily habits impact how I feel. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to sit down with these practitioners, ask real questions, and better understand my own health.

    Maddie E.

  • The Being Human program is an excellent way to view your health in a holistic manner and not keep a laser focus on just one aspect (numbers on a scale or health screening).

    Louise H.

  • I am 52 and the Being Human team succeeded in sharing their passion on how to get my body and mind into a more healthy and functional place. They guided my group on how we could take control of our own health using nutrients from food, movement, sunshine, and rest as medicine.

    Julie Anna M.

  • I enjoyed the three-fold approach to developting wellness literacy that Bieng Human Provided. It's hard to really improve your health without understanding how so many facets of life are interconnected. This was a very wholistic way of looking at how we live and how no action we take is isolated. Understanding our bodies in terms medical mental nad nutrition and the significant overlap between them was enlightening.

    Pete H.
